Founded in 1737 A.D. by Thakur Nawal Singh, a warrior statesman, whole name is enshrined in history and folklore. The town exudes an old world charm and the colourful bazaar has the largest number of painted havelies in Shekhawati.

The Roop Niwas Palace lies just a kilometere away from the town and is a fascinating blend of European and Rajput style of architecture. Built 90 years ago by Thakur Roop Singh, the palace has lovely, spacious lawns, a billiard room ans a swimming pool. Dundlod Castel lies in the midst of the village and seems to maintain a close affinity with people.Built in 1750 A.D. by Kesari Singh and later renovated by the Thakurs, notable Thakur Harnath Singh, the majestic castel has imposing walls and a moat running around it . Situated in the heart ofShekhawati, the imposing castel of Dundlod was built in 1750 A.D. by Kesari Singh. The castel is a mixture of Rajput and Mughal architecture. Therere are minarets, mythological paintings and motifs of flowers. The main gateway-Suraj Pole leads to the middle gate and the main couryard. The Diwan Khana which overlooks this courtyard is one of the most interesting halls here. Built in Mughal style, The Diwan Khana is furnished with Louis XIV furniture on Indian history. The fort of Mukundgarh lies 150 kms. From Jaipur. Founded in mid-18th century by Raja Mukund Singh, the fort spreads over two acres of land. The fort is built in traditionalRajput syle and has sevrral courtyards, overhanging balconies, arched windows and the famed frescoes for which the entire Shekhawati region is well-known. Other than the fort, the village has many painted havelies of tourist interest.

Developed by a Delhi based hotel group, the fort has been recently renovated keeping the traditional look of the palace intact.
